Pray for Local Elections in Winchester this week

This Thursday 5 May, Winchester residents go to the polls in Local and Parish elections and to elect a Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire.

As ever these local elections remind us of those who serve in local government in our region and of the importance of our involvement in these processes.

As the elections approach do pray for candidates, for parties and for those involved in planning the election.  Pray for Winchester residents for wisdom in how they vote and pray for those who will serve us into the future.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour” 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Polling takes place on Thursday 5 May.  There are seven candidates for Police Commissioner and elections in many local wards.  Check the Winchester City Council website for full details.
