Street pastors are recruiting for revival of night-time economy

street pastors talking to people in WinchesterTimes change, lockdowns come and go, but Winchester’s Street Pastors have been out and about whenever they can be. They offer reassurance, safety and support to everyone out in the city at night by caring, listening and helping. Recruited from local churches, Street Pastors have been out on the city’s streets at weekends since 2011.

Now, they are recruiting in anticipation of a revival in the night-time economy next year. They are seeking new volunteers to become:

  • Street Pastors for April-October only, early Friday evening, to cover non-city centre teams
  • Street Pastors for later (Covid permitting) teams on either Friday or Saturday evening/night
  • Prayer Pastors who will pray at home or from the base in Jewry St while their team is on the streets

Full training will be given, starting in mid-February. If you would like to find out more or apply to become a Street Pastor in Winchester, contact coordinator, Mark Hibbert-Hingston on or 07740 288654.
